TikTok
The TikTok app is a storefront pixel only, with no product, inventory or order sync. TikTok Shop is deliberately out of scope, and the app is not released to stores.
Scope: a pixel, not a sales channel
The TikTok integration is a storefront tracking pixel. That is all of it:
- You store a TikTok pixel ID against a sales channel, and the SDK loads the pixel on the storefront and fires standard e-commerce events at it.
- There is no product sync, no inventory sync, no order pull, and no catalog. The connector exposes a discovery endpoint and nothing else, so product/inventory sync jobs are never enqueued for a TikTok install. That is by design, not by omission.
TikTok Shop (in-app checkout) is deliberately out of scope. It is unavailable to Israeli merchants, and TikTok retired the external-storefront model in September 2023. Do not build against it.
Not released to stores
The TikTok app is a draft in the marketplace: it is hidden from browse and cannot be installed by anyone other than a platform super-admin. Merchants will not see it.
TikTok sign-in is also unimplemented: the OAuth start endpoint returns a not-yet-implemented error, and the platform credentials are unset in every environment. Server-side conversion reporting (the TikTok Events API) does not exist either.
What a merchant can do today
Nothing through this app. Until it ships, the working path is to fire the TikTok pixel through the merchant's own Google Tag Manager container, which the storefront tags already support on every store. See the merchant guide: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and the Meta pixel.
Shopify
Shopify is a one-time, read-only import source in the Migration Tool, not a live two-way sync. The Shopify connector was retired.
Google Merchant Center
Push your catalog to Google Merchant Center through the Google app, with one install per store and one Merchant Center account per sales channel.
