The registration page and emails
What a person receives and sees after registering for an event, the private "Your registration" page their email links to, how a lost link is replaced, and what your storefront has to build.
Registering for an event gives a person two things: a confirmation email and a private Your registration page. This article explains both, and what your storefront still has to build itself. See Events for the state of the feature today.
What email does a registrant get?
Right after a free registration is confirmed, Brainerce sends the person one confirmation email. It carries:
- the event name and the person's registration number (such as R-0007);
- the start and end date and time, written in the event's own time zone with the zone named, so "19:00" means 19:00 in Jerusalem for everyone who opens it;
- the address, or for an online event the online link (this email and the registration page are the only places that link ever appears);
- the number of seats and the attendee names, if names were asked for;
- a private link to their registration page.
The email is written in the language the visitor registered in, or your store's language when none was given. It is a transactional message about their registration, and registering does not sign the person up for your marketing emails.
The only other event email is the "event cancelled" notice, sent to every registrant when you cancel the whole event. It names the event, the date it was planned for and the registration number, and says the payment will be refunded only if you chose to refund. Cancelling a single registration, changing an event and reminders before the event send nothing. There is no reminder email. If something changes, tell your registrants yourself.
For a paid event, the confirmation is sent only after Brainerce has verified the payment on the server. The amount in the email is what the person actually paid. A person whose payment arrived with no seat left gets no confirmation, because they are not registered.
If the confirmation could not be queued at the moment of registering, the registration still stands, and Brainerce queues the email again by itself. You can also send it again by hand. See Registrations and seats.
What is the "Your registration" page?
The link in the email opens a simple page, hosted by Brainerce, titled Your registration. It works whichever site builder your storefront uses, because it does not live on your storefront. It shows:
- the event name;
- the registration number, when (start and end, in the event's time zone), where (the address of a physical event), the number of seats and the attendee names;
- for an online event, a Join online button with the participants-only link;
- a short note when something applies: This event was cancelled, This registration was cancelled, Your seats are held while payment completes or, for a payment that arrived with no seat left, a note that the organiser will refund it (the last two only belong to paid events).
The page is in Hebrew or English, following the language of the registration, and shows right to left in Hebrew.
The link is private. It carries a secret code, so anyone who has the link can open that one registration and see its online link. The page is never indexed by search engines, never saved by browsers or proxies, and no script or outside resource can load on it. Tell registrants not to forward the email.
What if a registrant loses the link?
On your storefront, the visitor enters their email and registration number and asks for a new link. Brainerce always answers that the request was accepted, whether or not a registration matched, so the form cannot be used to find out who registered. If it matches, a fresh confirmation email arrives with a new link, and the old link stops working.
- A link that is wrong, expired or replaced shows This link is invalid or has expired. Ask the organiser to send it again.
- The request is limited to a few attempts a minute per visitor.
- You can also send a new confirmation yourself. See Registrations and seats.
What does my storefront have to build?
Brainerce hosts the "Your registration" page only. Everything before the registration is built on your storefront. That means:
- An events list and an event page, showing the name, the description, the date and time in the event's time zone, the address, and how many seats remain.
- A registration form: name, email, a phone number when the event asks for one, the number of seats (up to the event's limit per registration), and a name per attendee when the event asks for them.
- A confirmation message after submitting, and a form to ask for a new link.
Your developer builds these with the Brainerce SDK, which can list published events, read one event by its handle, check live availability, register for an event (a paid one is held while the person pays, then confirmed once Brainerce verifies the payment), read a registration from its private token and request a new link. Only published events are visible to visitors. Draft and archived events are not found, and neither is an event that is not offered on that storefront's sales channel. A storefront made with npx create-brainerce-store has none of these pages yet.
The registration request is limited to a few attempts a minute per visitor, because it takes seats.
Does an event show up in my product feed, in Google or in my sitemap?
No. Events are not products. They do not appear in your product feeds, your Google listings, your product pages or your sitemap, and the AI assistant tools for products and orders do not return them. (BOBO and an MCP assistant have separate events actions, on a store where the Events module is on: see Events.)
