Shipping

Set up where you ship and what it costs so shipping options appear at checkout.

Shipping in Brainerce works in two parts: you define zones (the places you ship to) and add rates to each zone (what shipping costs there). Customers see the matching rates at checkout based on their address.

Open Shipping in the sidebar. The two pages you manage are Overview (paid orders waiting to ship, parcels in transit, anything that needs attention) and Zones & Rates (where you ship and what it costs). See Shipping overview for what each panel means.

Shipments is not a merchant page. A Shipments link may appear in your sidebar, but opening it sends you straight back to Zones & Rates. It is a platform-managed surface only Brainerce staff can open, and that is not a fault in your store. To see where a parcel is, use the Shipping overview or open the order itself and see Order status and shipping. The Shipments reference describes what Brainerce sees on your behalf.

What you need for checkout to work

For shipping options to appear at checkout, you need:

  1. At least one active shipping zone that covers the customer's country.
  2. At least one active rate in that zone.

If no zone and rate match the customer's address, no shipping option appears, which can stop the order. Make sure your zones cover everywhere you sell. If a shipping option is not showing at checkout even though a zone and a rate exist, go through the checklist for a missing shipping option. The usual causes are another zone winning the address, a basket below a rate's threshold, and an address that arrived with no country.

If you don't see shipping settings, enable the Shipping module under Settings → Modules.

Who can see and change shipping

The Shipping sidebar entry, the zone and rate lists and the Calculator need the permission to view store settings. Creating, editing or deleting a zone, a rate or a shipping class needs the permission to manage store settings; someone who can only view sees the screens and a save is refused. Buying or cancelling a label and adding tracking follow the order permissions, see Shipping overview.

In this section

  • Set up shipping zones and rates to create zones and add flat, free, weight-based, price-based, or pickup rates.
  • Shipping overview to see what is ready to ship, buy or cancel a label, and read the warnings.
  • Connect Shippo or EasyPost for live carrier rates at checkout and labels, using your own account.
  • Connect HFD to have Brainerce create deliveries with HFD in Israel, fetch the label and track the parcel.
  • Connect Cheetah to have Brainerce create deliveries with Cheetah in Israel, fetch the label and track the parcel.

Adding a tracking number to an order is done from the Shipping overview (Add tracking on each waiting order). See Order status and shipping.

Connected carriers

You connect a carrier yourself, from Apps. Open Apps, choose the Shipping tab and install Shippo, EasyPost, HFD or Cheetah, then enter your own account details. There is no Shipping → Carriers page: carriers are connected only from Apps.

A connected carrier lets Brainerce buy real labels rather than only recording tracking numbers you got elsewhere: buying a label from the Shipping overview, voiding it if the parcel never goes, declaring customs for cross-border parcels where the carrier supports it, and having tracking flow back onto the order by itself. You can connect more than one, and choose which one handles which orders with each app's Priority and Deliver only to these countries settings.

Without a connected carrier, which is the normal state, none of that is available to you. Brainerce buys no labels and no tracking events arrive on their own. Use Add tracking to enter by hand the tracking number you got from the post office or courier. See Order status and shipping. That is the full shipping workflow for most stores, and it is not a degraded one.
