BOBO, your AI agent

BOBO is your AI store manager. Hire specialized agents, delegate tasks, get a daily briefing, and automate repetitive work.

BOBO is Brainerce's built-in AI layer. Instead of navigating menus, you describe what you want and BOBO handles it: "add 20% off all sneakers this weekend", "show me last month's best-sellers", "update the stock on SKU-123 to 50 units".

What BOBO can do

  • Answer questions like "how many orders did I get this week?" or "which product sold the most in January?".
  • Take actions: create coupons, update product prices, adjust stock, publish products.
  • Get a daily briefing. Set up a Daily schedule and BOBO summarizes the previous day: revenue, new orders, low-stock alerts, and anything that needs your attention. Nothing arrives until you create that schedule yourself. See Set up a daily briefing.
  • Schedule tasks, such as "remind me to disable the SUMMER25 coupon on July 1st".

AI employees

You can hire specialized AI teammates: a Marketing agent for promotions, an Inventory agent for stock, an Analytics agent for KPIs, and more. Open the AI assistant, then choose Team management from its menu, to hire and manage them. See Hire your first AI agent.

How to use BOBO

Open the AI assistant from your dashboard and type naturally. BOBO understands Hebrew and English.

When you refer to a product, category, or coupon by name, type the name exactly as it appears in your store. BOBO matches names literally, so it will not find a Hebrew product by its English translation, or an English one by its Hebrew name.

Approval flow: In a chat, before BOBO takes any action (creating, updating, or deleting data), it shows you a summary and asks for your approval. You can edit the plan before confirming. A scheduled agent run works differently: it acts on the approval you gave when you created the schedule, rather than asking again each time. It still never deletes or cancels anything on its own.

BOBO says I don't have permission to do that

BOBO checks your role before it makes a change. For most changes, if your role does not let you make it by clicking through the menus, asking BOBO to make it for you is refused as well. You get a short message saying you do not have permission and to ask a store owner, rather than a plan to approve.

The refusal comes before the approval card, not after it. So this is not the approval step described above changing its mind: you never see a plan at all. If BOBO showed you a plan and you approved it, permissions were not the problem.

What this means per role, at the default settings:

  • Viewer: BOBO is closed to you entirely. The Viewer role does not include Use AI Assistant, so there is nothing to ask it.
  • Staff: everyday work still goes through. You can ask BOBO to edit products and their options, update stock, move orders along and fulfil them. Ask it for a gift card, a loyalty change, a pricing formula, a donation setting, a standing order, a blog post, a page or an email campaign and it refuses: those need a Manager or the store owner.
  • Manager: nearly everything, but gift cards and donations are not in the Manager role by default, so asking BOBO to issue a gift card is refused until the owner ticks those permissions on your member record.
  • Owner: everything.

This is not a setting on BOBO and there is nothing to switch off. The fix is a permissions change on the person, made by a store owner under Settings → Team. See Team and permissions.

To close the assistant to someone completely, untick Use AI Assistant on their member record under Settings → Team, or move them to Viewer. Without that permission there is nothing for them to ask.

If your role changed recently and an external tool stopped working too, that is a related but separate thing: a ChatGPT or Claude connection made over MCP is cut off by a role change and has to be set up again. See Removing someone also disconnects their ChatGPT or Claude connection.

Why BOBO asks me to type a number instead of clicking Approve

Once a single action would touch 10 or more items, the approval card stops accepting a plain "yes" and asks you to type the exact number back. The card shows "Type 40 to confirm the scope" next to a small box; type 40 into it and only then does the Approve button work. The box takes digits only: spelling it out in words, or adding the word "categories", is not possible and not needed.

This is not a glitch and there is no setting to switch it off. It exists because "yes" is the easiest thing in the world to type by reflex, and a bulk delete is the hardest thing to undo. Typing the number is the one moment you are forced to read how big the job actually is.

The number on the card is the real count, taken from your live store at that moment. It is not an estimate. If it says 40 and you were expecting 6, that gap is the warning: close the card and ask BOBO to show you the list before you approve anything.

It applies to deletes and to bulk edits alike: deleting products, categories, brands or variants, and bulk price or status changes. Below 10 items you get an ordinary Approve button.
